Maison Martin Margiela gives the All-American trainer brand Converse and avant-garde makeover for autumn.
Maison Martin Margiele and Converse's collaboration features a range of high-top All-Star and low-top Jack Purcell trainers launching in stores this month that are completely hand-dipped in bright white paint - and we mean completely. The canvas, eyelets, laces, and even the soles get the treatment.
The paint cracks as you wear them to reveal one of four colors underneath - heritage Converse colors including red, black, navy and a Maison Martin Margiela exclusive, vintage yellow.
"The Maison has always been obsessed with white; it is used as a layer to give an incognito feeling. A sort of poetry, with the passage of time, the shoes asserts itself,' says Maison Martin Margiela.
Retailing at $230, these are available at Maison Martin Margiela stores and select Converse First String retailers from September.
