Fashion Vegetable Garden

Earlier this year high fashion brands styled their runways with fruits and vegetables to remind ourselves that "green" in now rooted in fashion's soil and soul. The association of fashion and vegetable was a surreal association, but fun. Healthy living designers like Dolce & Gabbanna, Ferragamo and Trusardi created a runway of vegetable and fruit prints, to remind ourselves that we are what we eat, but are we also what we wear?


The Green message is quickly becoming popular in the fashion industry, we are happy to hear that designers are wanting to transmit the "green" message throughout their designs and at same time promoting a healthy living.

Gap launched a new webpage Styld.by, created by AKQA, the site is a digital catalog that lets bloggers from popular sites such as Fabsugar, Refinery29 and Lookbook.nu, to style and showcase key pieces of Gap's latest collections. Participating bloggers use Gap items in their daily outfits and are photographed with them to later be shared through sites such as Pinterest, Facebook, Tweeter and Tumbler. If you click on the looks you are redirected to Gap's website to buy the items.

DIY: Shelve Project

We found this great DIY project on how to make a shelf with fruit boxes. If you are looking for a practical and original way to store things at home this is the way to do it. Just follow the steps below.

To do this project you will need to look for fruit boxes with a good size. You can get them at any supermarket at the end of the day when they throw them away. The number of boxes will depend on how many modules you want to make. 

Once you have the boxes you can start sanding the borders and any imperfections. You don't have to worry if they look a little rustic, thats one of the projects charm. If you want a more professional finish you can apply a layer of varnish so that all the boxes have the same tone. Once they are dry you can start your distribution through the wall.

Watch: Simon's Cat

Check out "Simon's Cat" a series of animated cartoon videos created by British animator Simon Tofield. He loves the wildlife, painting, outdoor activities and his cats.

Givenchy's Rave Party

Givenchy's Fall/Winter 2012 ad campaign is fun, energetic and will make you dance. Creative director Ricardo Ticci asked models Joan Smalls, Stef Van de Laan, Daliela Braga, Simone Nobili, Jarrod Scoot and Rodrigo Braga to bring their best dance moves while listening to electro music. The shoot background is dark and stormy capturing the euphoric energy of a rave says Ticci.

The campaign was shot by famous photographers Mart and Marcus famous in the fashion world for their beautiful portraits of powerful women, styled by Carine Roitfeld. The ads will fill the pages of magazines in September.
