Assouline: Women in Art: Figures of Influence

Photographed by Reed Krakoff, Women in Art: Figures of Influences features intimate black-and-white portraits of leading women in the contemporary art community. From Valentina Castellani, Almine Rech, and Jeanne-Greenberg Rohatyn to Dominique Levy, Marianne Boesky, and Lucy Chadwick, each women possesses undeniable talent, creativity, and intelligence - making them prominent figureheads of renowned galleries, museums, and institutions across the globe. 

Complementing each image is an art questionnaire - following in the spirit of Assouline's bestselling Proust Questionnaire and Fashion Questionnaire - personally completed by each women along with selected works of art. A true objet d' art, Women in Art: Figures of Influences offers a unique window into the feminine side of the art world.

Reed Krakoff is the President and Executive Creative Director of Coach. Originally from Weston, Connecticut, he received a degree in fashion design from the Parsons School of Design. Krakoff entered the fashion industry from the ground up, working for prominent designers such as Anne Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 1996 he joined the ranks of the leading American accessories designer Coach. He has most recently added photography to his long list of talents, personally styling and shooting advertising campaigns for his company. Krakoff's photographs have been exhibited in galleries in New York City and Tokyo and featured in magazines such as Interview, Elle Decor, and Town & Country.
