New York based designer Michael Kors has added scents, color cosmetics, and a body care range to his beauty line-up.
According to an interview with WWD magazine, Michael Kors will launch a colors cosmetics line this fall. In the US, Macy's will have 12-month exclusivity in its 660 stores for the products, which will also go on sale in Canada in 300 locations of The Bay and will be available at Michael Kors locations globally.
The line is split in three collections - Sporty, Sexy and Glam - and has been produced in collaboration with beauty giant Estee Lauder. "Those three things-sexy, sporty and glam - have been the DNA of Michael Kors, and in a strange way, the Michael Kors women really is all three of those things - it's just that she feels more strongly about one of them at certain times," he told WWD. There's a scent for all three collections, with accompanying lip and nail products, powders and body care options.
Peruvian fashion legend Mario Testino has shot the print and TV advertising. The images feature supermodel and Kors favorite Karmen Pedaru, who replaced fellow Estonian Carmen Kass, as the face of the brand in 2011. The film's soundtrack by Duran Duran "Girls on Film", is also se to drop when the collection hits the stores.
