Louis Vuitton / Check-in, Check-out

Weaving in and out of a graphic checkerboard, the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show collection is full of surprises.

The word 'check' is derived from the Persian word for 'king' from an oriental game played on a square checkerboard. The playful setting and collection presented for the Spring/Summer show was based upon the concept of repetition in accordance with Louis Vuitton Damier pattern.

Stripes and checks were in abundance in the graphic universe created in collaboration with French conceptual artist Daniel Buren and here director John Wright takes repetition to another level in an animated and playful checkerboard film all about Damier and beyond. A game of seeing a double, as well as as show, with not only the set but also the models as twins walking down the catwalk in pairs.

The collection from the fashion show is now available in selected Louis Vuitton stores.
