Architect Steven Harris turns a tangle of small Manhattan apartments into a free-flowing penthouse duplex with stunning Central Park views
A glass-walled penthouse showcases the living room, dining room, and kitchen of a New York City duplex renovated by Steven Harris Architects and decorated by Rees Roberts + Partners. The outdoor seating is by Dedon, while the living room chair in the foreground is vintage Milo Baughman. Indiana limestone paves both the terrace and the interior.
In the living room, vintage Harvey Probber club chairs upholstered in a Kravet fabric face a custom-made sectional sofa.
The living room’s clear table lamp is Murano glass.
Midcentury-modern–style chairs clad in an Osborne & Little fabric join a custom-made rosewood-top table in the dining area, which offers views of the Upper East Side; the light fixture, also custom made, is fashioned of interlocking pieces of vintage Murano glass.
Sheathed in wood-grain marble, the master bath features a vanity with cerused-oak doors; the shower and sink fittings are by Vola.
