Ked's + Madewell

Ked's has teamed up with Madewell this Spring 2012 to create a limited edition collection of sneakers. Ked's for Madewell are available for purchase at selected Madewell stores or online for $50(USD).

The collection consists of three different designs in their famous Ked's classic Champion silhouette. Two of the designs have a stripe mix print and the other a polka dot print. I love them, they can brighten your outfit and your day! Wear them with your favorite skinny jeans to show them off.

MADEWELL: Spring 2012 Catalog

Madewell will be releasing it's Spring 2012 Catalog on March 6. This is their third catalog, and already it looks like they have been doing it for ever. I like the fact that they used a neutral tone for their background making the rest pop, it's all about the cloth people!

Madewell started back in 1937 as a workwear company, so they know how to make a good pair of jeans. Besides jeans they have tons of "downtown-chic essentials", very classic and comfortable cloth but with a twist, perfect for your every day wardrobe.

L'Odyssee de Cartier

French jewelry house Cartier is about to debut their first short film! Can you believe it took them nearly two years to complete? This short film was done to celebrate Cartier's 165 year history. The film's cinematography, art direction and visual effects are marvelous. Nice done Bruno Aveillan!, director of the film. He and a group of 50 people created this fantastic film.

In the film the model carries a 13.4 carat pearl cut solitaire diamond ring and a platinum panther bracelet with emerald eyes and cut diamonds.

L'Odysse de Cariter will make its nationwide debut on TV, in movie theaters and on Cartier's website on March 4.

Rebecca Minkoff: The best of Spring!

Rebecca Minkoff is a designer to admire, her passion for design and her good taste in fashion have taken her to  create her own lifestyle empire. Even though she just started in 2005 with a handbag line, which was a complete success, she continued to expand her line with a women's ready-to-wear collection in 2009, and just recently she launched a footwear line. She is so ambitious and a such hard worker, there is no doubt that she will continue to surprise us with her designs.

Here are my top picks for Rebecca Minkoff's Spring '12 Collection + a video of her Spring '12 Collection.

Celebrate: International Women's Day!

I invite you to celebrate International Women's Day!!!! Find out why:

"International Women's Day(IWD) ia a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and future. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievement, regardless of divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political."

"IWD has assumed a new global dimension for women in developed and developing countries alike. The growing international women movement, which has been strengthened by four global United Nation's women's conferences, has helped make the commemoration a rallying point to build support for women's right's and progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities"

"The purpose of this day is to recognize the fact that securing peace and social progress and the full enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms require the active participating, equality and development of women, and to acknowledge the contribution of women to strengthening international peace and security".

"For the women of the world, the symbolism of IWS has wider meaning, It is an occasion to review how far women have come in their struggle for equality, peace and development. Is is also an opportunity to unite, network and mobilize for meaningful change".

Aldo: Goes Bananas!

Terry Richardson, famous American fashion photographer shoots Aldo's Spring/Summer '12 campaign. He is helping Aldo unveil their new shoe collection, all featured in bright bold colors. Model Anais Pouliot is the face of Aldo's new campaign, she looks fabulous, even though she had to make the most awkward things in the photo shoot like: lay down in a bed of bananas, ride a coconut tree, and climb a totem pole. How funny!

Besides Aldo Terry Richardson has shot campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, YSL and Supreme. He has also done magazine editorials for: Vogue, Vanity Fair,  GQ, i-D and Vice. And listen to this in 2011 he hosted a book launch with my favorite editor Carine Roitfeld in Paris. WOW!
