After much internet
speculation, it's official! Jamie Dornan has been cast as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey film. His appointment
follows the departure of Charlie Hunnam, who was previously set in the lead role but backed out of
the project earlier this month, citing scheduling conflicts with his TV show Sons
of Anarchy. And while Dornan wasn't the best-known actor in the running for
the job (word has it that Matt Bomer, Alexander Skarsgard, Theo James, and Christian Cooke were all under
consideration), he does have the chops to do it — and it's his modeling
work that proves it. Before Dornan starred in Marie Antoinette, The
Fall, and Once Upon a Time, he modeled for everyone from Dior to Calvin Klein, Armani, and Zara — and his time oozing sex appeal in front of the camera would surely help
him play Grey's highly charged character.
